Pottery workshops and courses
I teach wheel throwing and handbuilding workshops at Garath The Goat, Penryn, Naku, Penryn and also at CAST in Helston.
I will shortly be offering wheel-throwing lessons from our brand new garden studio! Stay tuned for our launch in Spring, but for now you can view what I'll be offering below.

Garden Studio Sessions
-
Getting herePlease park on Swanvale Road or Shelburne Road for the duration of your workshop. We are also a 5 minute walk from Penmere Station or Shelburne road bus stop. You'll find the gate to the garden studio on Boslowick Road - you can't miss it - it's painted up bright and cheery with a sign. I will send details of getting here in your booking confirmation.
-
Safety and Accessibility. Please inform me of any injuries or physical limitations that I need to be aware of to make sure your session is as safe and comfortable as possible. The studio is set up a few stairs, so unfortunately wheel chairs aren't able to get into the studio. We're working on a solution to this. We can turn lights off, keep it as quiet as possible and work with any of your needs if you rather lower stimulation environments, same with heating, seating and any other needs you require. I want to ensure your safety and comfort so encourage you to contact me (hello@ameliakfulton.com) so I can work with you to make your session perfect.
-
What do I wear? Please wear clothing you don't mind getting a little muddy! For the most part, clay and glaze washes out easily but it's best not to wear anything too precious. Please be mindful of jewellery and watches - they don't go well with the pottery wheel and water. It helps to have short fingernails and to tie long hair back too. I have aprons for you to use, or you're welcome to bring your own. I also have gloves you can use during glazing if you prefer.
-
DogsYou're welcome to bring your dog if it is friendly with other dogs - I have a greyhound who may come and visit us while we work. If you have allergies or any issues with dogs just let me know and Ernie can be kept away from the studio.
-
KidsThe space is not suitable for small children, please refrain from bringing kids. You're also going to noto have a lot of hands-free time! If you have a child 8 years or older, please enquire with me via email (hello@ameliakfulton.com) as to whether or not the sessions are appropriate for them to book onto.
