Service Description

So you've seen Ghost or Pottery Throwdown and you want to have a go on the wheel? Let's do it! Learn about preparing clay, setting up the wheel, centering and ultimately throwing a successful pot.  WHAT TO EXPECT CLAY: Use as much clay as you like! I source my clay from St Agnes, Cornwall. I will also be sourcing wild clays (foraged myself) but this is a future option - check back later! LEARN: These three hours will provide an introduction to throwing for beginners or practice for those with a bit of experience. We will start with clay preparation and wedging, centering and throwing. We will begin focusing on cylinders and then see where we go! FINISHING A PIECE: If you want, I will finish the piece off when it's dryer, we'll talk about glazes and I will fire it and send it to you or you can come and collect it.  OR I'll let you know when the piece is fired ready for glazing and you can book in a 2 hour casual session to glaze and maybe have another go on the wheel! REFRESHMENTS: Tea, snacks, and chats. It'll just be yourself and me in the studio (if you like dogs then maybe my greyhound Ernie will visit for pats too) with tea, snacks and no pressure at all.
